My Monster
by Eleanor Taylor

Release Date: 5th May 2008
Publisher: Bloomsbury
ISBN: 978 0 7475 8991 4
RRP: £5.99

Because moving home can be a bit scary

Louis is a young fox who has just moved house with his family. For most young children this would be an upsetting time, but Louis is full of beans and zipping around the house shouting “Boo” at everything! But when Louis climbs into bed that first night in the new house – he hears a strange noise coming from under his bed.

As it turns out, the noise comes from a rather upset big, green, furry monster... but Louis isn’t afraid because the monster seems more scared than he is. Instead they become the best of friends and Louis declares to his family that this is “My monster”.

Louis is quite the remarkable young fox. And he quickly helps his monster feel at home, and to even make friends at the local playground!

My Monster is a delightfully illustrated, feel-good book for young children. Louis is an inspiration to all children and parents alike in learning how to deal with new surroundings and meeting new people. In the most subtle terms possible, it also teaches the reader to accept other people, no matter how different and potentially scary they might look.

This is the kind of book you want to snuggle up with in bed. Simply gorgeous.
