Release Date: 5th Mar 2007Bring out your children's wilder side whilst learning to count.
Counting should be fun and what could be more fun than counting along with some peculiar animals doing silly things? The Selfish Crocodile is a beautifully illustrated counting book for the under 5’s that will capture their imaginations and help your offspring understand numbers 1 to 10, whilst simultaneously introducing them to some of the perhaps lesser known animals – such as the lounging lizard and fluttering flamingos!
The only downside to this enchanting hardback book is the lack of written numbers alongside the figures, something that is a useful aside and helps your little ones recognise numbers in both their figurative and written form.
This has been a favourite in recent years, having originally been published in 2007. I can understand why is has attracted some many fans – the children will love the illustrations and the funny things the animals get up to, and the adults will love the fact that they are helping their children learn and prepare for those school days ahead. My personal view is that there are better counting books out there that cover all the bases, but perhaps none quite so enchanting.
