A first book for your baby, specifically designed for the crib/cot...

Fiona Land brings us a First Cot Book from her stylised Baby Touch series. With its classic high contrast colours (yellow, black and white), it enables your young baby to focus without eye strain as well as preventing over stimulation.

The pages are thickly padded, although not overly soft to the touch. As well as acting as a book, the pages open out fully and have strategically placed ties to enable it to be secured to the crib or cot; thereby creating something akin to a cot bumper. With different images available on either side, you can easily alter what your baby can see – and the mirror effect is significantly better quality than that used on the buggy book and so will delight your little one.

On the down side, it is annoyingly handwash only; whereas machine washable would be preferable given the likelihood of dirt and grime finding its way onto the material and the fact that your baby is likely to want to suck and chew on it. Overall though, the First Cot Book is good value and will certainly capture your baby’s attention.
