Release Date: 4th Mar 2010Delightful and substantial first numbers book for your little one...
Ladybird have done it again: their ‘My First...’ series illustrated by the extremely talented, Kate Merritt, is a sure-fire winner with your little ones and it’s bright, airy pages will be just as appealing for you as a parent.
The book itself is wonderfully thick and sturdy with a luxuriously padded feel to its cover that draws curious little fingers in. The illustrations are spot-on for this age group – simplistic in nature, cheerfully coloured, big and bold. The learning of the actual numbers themselves is split between being taught to recognise actual numbers, to being able to count either the number of creatures on the page or the white dots in the top right-hand corner.
It is the white dots that we are particularly pleased with as their sheer minimalism enables the child to focus entirely on the counting rather than being distracted by funny looking animals or trying to fathom which number they are looking at.
This vibrant, chunky book aimed at toddlers making their first tentative steps on the road to learning is a classic must-have.
