Release Date: 2nd Oct 2008The final book in the series (we presume), and Lizzie et al still have to stop the evil Taran from securing the last pearl otherwise she will become all powerful and no one will be able to thwart her powers.
Rosie, her elder sister, has uncovered the truth about Lizzie heritage and the surprising truth that Lizzie is in fact a mermaid and it would seem that their bond as sisters, despite both being adopted, is made stronger than ever. Their relationship, however, is set to be tested to its limits as after a visit to the Sea Life Centre to check that the awful Tullor (Taran's conger eel henchman) is really help captive, Rosie begins to act strangely. In a terrible twist of fate, just as Rosie is finally let into the secret of Lizzie's other life - she has somehow managed to become controlled by the evil usurper, Taran, who is still hell bent on getting her hands on the Black pearl.
It will take every one of Lizzie's family and friends to ensure that Taran does not get hold of the real Black pearl. Her father, Jack, comes up with a way to trap the evil queen - but will it work? And will Rosie be freed from Taran's powers?
Delightful and written with its audience firmly in mind; this is a satisfying, if somewhat predictable finale. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series and will be looking out for further stories from Louise Cooper.
