Release Date: 5th May 2011Another Bright book from the author of My Sister is an Alien...
It can be tough having a sibling, either older or younger; but imagine if you had a twin! You’d have to share your birthday and your mum and dad – in fact; you would have to share just about everything, which isn’t always as easy as it sounds. Especially if you happen to be two very different people who like very different things: just like Fifi and Frankie.
Funny Bunny is a cute little stuffed toy that belongs to both Fifi and Frankie. The trouble is: they can’t agree on how, when or where to play with him. When they go to visit their grandmother one day, their arguing over Funny Bunny gets out of hand. Can Fifi and Frankie learn to put their differences aside and work together to figure out how to share their favourite toy?
Mine is a serious little tale about the pitfalls of not sharing that is sweetened ever so slightly with intermittent humorous asides (you’ll need to watch out for the illustrations). We couldn’t help but feel bad for the poor bunny who gets pulled about so much, although he does look rather fetching with Fifi’s pants… err… we mean, the Very Special Rabbit Hat on! Bright is an accomplished children’s author. She can create charming characters, gorgeous illustrations and provides ample subtext to cue the parent or reader. A Bright book is just that – smart, cheerful and light. Perfection.
